Flying with baby for the first time can be very daunting. But it’s not so difficult if you are well prepared. Check with the airline if you can pre-book a baby bassinet (sky cot). You will need this so the baby can rest well and you don’t have to hold the baby in your arms through the whole flight. Be sure to take the coverlet from the crib bedding sets so that baby has the familiar smell and comfort of home while he is sleeping on the flight.
Allow plenty of time at the airport for check-in etc because you know how much longer it takes to do everything with your new baby. Pack a baby bag with baby formula, diapers, wipes, perfumed nappy sack and keep it close at hand on the journey. Some planes have a bathroom with a baby changing table in it to make the task of changing baby easier. Attendants are always close at hand for any other needs you might need have with baby, so relax and enjoy your first flight with baby.
