When decorating your baby’s nursery don’t forget the walls play a huge impact on the style of the room. You can use wallpaper to cover the walls. If you do this make sure you make the right choice. Wallpaper is time consuming to put up, if you are doing it yourself, so choose something that will not need changing for a few years and be suitable for a toddler too. You can also paint the nursery in a tone that will match the crib bedding set. Then you can use wallpaper borders which are very easy to apply. Most come pre-pasted so they are easy to apply and easy to take off when it is time for a change. Some wallpaper borders coordinate with crib bedding sets which can make it easier to choose which one you should use. Wall stickers can also be used and are very easy to apply.
Some crib bedding sets have coordinating wall hangings such as the Butterfly Pink and Lavender Wall Hangings . These are usually made with the same fabrics as the bedding and come in sets of three. Wall hangings will add layers of interest and style to your decor.
You know sometimes it will be difficult to get your baby to settle down to sleep. You can try rocking, bouncing or even walking around the nursery with your baby in efforts to try and help him/her calm down and get the rest that he/she needs.
I think the best thing you can do is wind up a musical mobile and let your baby relax himself to sleep. You can buy a coordinated musical mobile with most crib bedding sets. Musical Mobiles play many different lullaby’s including, my favorite, Brahms Lullaby. Your baby can watch the mobile spinning around and as he does he will hear the soothing sound of the lullaby and before you know it your baby will be fast asleep. This is the best way to help your baby get into a routine for sleeping.

When I was expecting my son, I wanted to buy a crib bedding set that was special and a theme I could decorate his nursery around. I found a great Aviator 9pc set by JoJo Designs. The quality was exceptional and the 9 pieces included the quilt, bumper, sheet, dust ruffle, a diaper stacker, toy bag, even a decorative pillow and 2 window valances. I also had the option to buy even more co-ordinating accessories for the nursery. It was one of the easiest purchases I made for my baby for everything I could possibly want to decorate his nursery.
On of the first words my son learned was “plane” because he saw them all around him as he was growing. That was where he first got his fascination for airplanes. He now plays with his toy planes and tells us he want’s to “fly them up there”. I wonder if we inspired this up and coming pilot by surrounding him and nurturing a passion in him that he might not have got otherwise.

October is SIDS (Sudden Infant Death Syndrome) Awareness month. SIDS is the sudden death of an infant under one year of age which remains unexplained. It affects 2,500 infants in the U.S.A alone and thousands more throughout the world.
There are some things that can be done to reduce the risk of SIDS.
1. Place infants to sleep on their backs.
2. Place infants to sleep in a crib with a firm mattress.
3. Keep the crib in parents bedroom for at least the first six months.
4. Do not over-cover the infant while he/she sleeps.
5. Do not expose the infant to tobacco smoke.
6. Breast-feed your baby whenever possible.
7. Offer your baby a pacifier. Some studies have shown a lower rate of SIDS among babies who use pacifiers.
Last fall another major factor was discovered in the prevention of SIDS – the use of a fan in the baby’s room. The study was published by the Archives of Pediatrics and states that there was a 72% reduction in SIDS risk when a fan was used during sleep.
Safety is the foremost priority for parents of new babies. So when you buy crib bedding sets make sure that the manufacturer is in compliance with all current safety standards.

Some specialty Cribs convert into Toddler Crib Beds when the sides can be taken off the crib. This gives extra use to the crib because it can also be used as a toddler bed, thus giving you more value for your money when you buy this type of convertible crib. You can also buy a toddler crib bed and use the crib mattress on it.
All baby crib bedding sets can fit the toddler crib bed because it uses the same mattress, and the dimensions of the bed are still the same. This means that you can still use all the crib sheets you have. The toddler crib bedding sets do come with a comforter which is larger than a crib quilt and pillow case because your toddler is now old enough for a pillow. It’s an exciting time when your child is old enough to leave his or her crib behind and sleep in a toddler crib bed.
