When decorating baby’s nursery you will notice that there are many accessories that you can buy with the crib bedding sets. One of these crib accessories is a clock. These are often themed with the crib bedding so they coordinate with the rest of the nursery decor. This cute monkey clock is part of the Chibi Monkey crib bedding set.
Having a clock in the nursery is an easy way to check what time it is when you are with baby. Having a small baby you can sometimes loose perception of what time it is let alone what day of the week. Babies need constant care and sometimes it feels like you do nothing else, but feeding, changing and bathing baby. With a clock in the nursery it’s easy to just look up and see what time it is and when baby went to sleep and when he woke up.

Flying with baby for the first time can be very daunting. But it’s not so difficult if you are well prepared. Check with the airline if you can pre-book a baby bassinet (sky cot). You will need this so the baby can rest well and you don’t have to hold the baby in your arms through the whole flight. Be sure to take the coverlet from the crib bedding sets so that baby has the familiar smell and comfort of home while he is sleeping on the flight.
Allow plenty of time at the airport for check-in etc because you know how much longer it takes to do everything with your new baby. Pack a baby bag with baby formula, diapers, wipes, perfumed nappy sack and keep it close at hand on the journey. Some planes have a bathroom with a baby changing table in it to make the task of changing baby easier. Attendants are always close at hand for any other needs you might need have with baby, so relax and enjoy your first flight with baby.
It is just one of the important decisions you make after (or sometimes) before you have your baby. What are you going to name your newborn? Some people might have had a name in mind for their child years before it was even born, and that’s all well and good. But some people struggle with finding a perfect name for a long time.
You first have to narrow it down to a boy, or girl name. There are also so many unisex names to choose from too. You can find websites that have hundreds of listing of baby names. Now that’s where I would start. I’m sure you will get suggestions from the new grandparents and family members too. Start writing a list of all names that you like that have been suggested to you by everyone, then narrow it down from there to just a few of your favorites.
But the final decision will be made when you see your little cherub for the first time. Or when you look at her sleeping soundly wrapped around by the crib bedding sets. You will instinctively know which name sounds right for her. Then try calling her by that name and you will now if it is right.
Do you remember how cute it was when your baby first found her thumb and started sucking on it. Well we were still in the delivery room when we heard this sucking noise, it was my baby, she had found her thumb and was sucking on it within half an hour of being born. I was told that she most probably started sucking her thumb in the womb. It’s strange to think that she had already developed this habit before she was even born.
Babies have a natural urge to suck which decreases after the age of 6 months. This does not mean they will stop sucking their thumb at this age. Many babies will continue sucking their thumbs to sooth themselves. This then becomes a habit and infants will do it to comfort themselves when they feel hungry, afraid, restless, sleepy or bored. Have you ever seen a baby fast asleep in his crib bedding sets with his mouth open and thumb falling out of it. Every time baby moves the thumb goes into the mouth and she subconsciously starts sucking on it again. Most children will stop this habit on their own between the ages 3 and 6 years. If they don’t you might need to get some help so they don’t develop dental or speech problems. You don’t want an issue that was once cute to become a problem when your child is older.
Toddlers live in their little make belief world. They love colors and things that spark their imagination. If you have ever read a story to a toddler you will know that they have their own favorite and will want to hear the same story over and over again.
When it comes to buying toddler crib bedding buy one with characters or a theme that your child shows interest in or something that you know will light up his eyes when he sees it. You know your child better than anyone else. A great example of themed bedding is the Pirates 4pc toddler crib bedding set. Let you child find the treasure with the pirates on this bedding set by Olive Kids.
As new parents we all have many worrying issues about how to look after our newborn baby. This baby is solely dependent on us for all of it’s needs and we want to be there and make sure we do everything we can to do this right. Sleep is a major part of baby’s life for the first few months after it is born. We can make sure baby has a safe sleep by using the checklist below.
1. Always use a crib sheet that fits snuggly around the mattress. If you don’t have crib sheets which have elastic around them you can buy the clips to hold the corners of the sheet together.
2. Only use bumper pads which fit around the entire crib and tie or snap securely into place. Bumper ties must not exceed nine inches.
3. Use bumper pads until baby can pull into a standing position, because you don’t want baby to stand on them and climb out of the crib.
4. Baby should only sleep in an infant bed and never on pillows, waterbed, beanbag or any other place not intended for baby to sleep on.
5. Remove pillows, stuffed toys and products not intended as infant bedding from the crib when baby is sleeping.
6. Always put your baby to sleep on his back unless otherwise advised by your physician.
7. Do not overdress your baby as infants cannot regulate body temperature well at this age. When sleeping cover baby with a thin covering such as a crib blanket or coverlet up to baby’s chest and tuck covering around the crib mattress. You could also consider a wearable blanket for baby.
8. Periodically check for loose threads or stitching on the crib bedding sets which could cause gagging or choking.
Now that baby is sleeping safe and soundly, it’s time you also got some rest because it will soon be feeding time again.
